Migrant and Inflation Costs

News just in from New York City about migrant costs. NYC migrant crisis costs will crack eye-popping $5 billion on shelters, security and food — amount could double by 2025. Let’s look first at the migrant and inflation costs to those in New York. Then this can be extrapolated to other cities but on a little lower cost basis for direct costs paid by government. Your costs from increased rent, food, home ownership, car insurance, etc though would be elevated wherever you are due to the vastly increased demand. This is especially prevalent for housing and food.

New York City has likely surpassed $5 billion in spending on services for migrants. This includes nearly $2 billion alone on housing.  Mayor Eric Adams’ administration projects the cost could double, hitting $10 billion over the three year period ending June 30, 2025.

  • $1.98 billion on housing and rent.
  • About $2 billion on services and supplies.
  • Nearly $500 million on food and medical costs.
  • Another $500 million on IT, administrative and other costs.

The NYPD alone has spent $21 million on public safety and security around where the city pays for all the rooms.  Adams also said there is still the challenge that migrants don’t have official documents to be legally employed.

NYC spending $387 per migrant each day

That’s $11,500 per month per migrant!!!  That’s equivalent to you having after tax spending of $138,000 per year.  So your salary (before tax) would need to be more than $175,000-$185,000 per year to equal that for your housing, food, etc. Also, the city is paying for TVs, cable, transportation, medical, and every other thing you can think of.

And these costs don’t include what Adams noted was the crime, shoplifting, and violence from gang members and other criminals who illegally entered the country.

This is only New York City.  It represents only a tiny fraction of the estimated 12+ million who entered the country under Biden-Harris.  The total tab for taxpayers will be in the hundreds of billions of dollars.  And that’s only direct costs.  The effect on every individual and family competing for housing, food, etc has raised prices 30% or more across the country.  Will the total exceed $1 trillion?  Yes, we’ve already probably hit that milestone. And we still have years, if not decades, of costs not yet accounted for.

Your Future Costs Will Continue and Continue and Continue Unless A Change is Made

For the forseeable future each and every day, each and every month, each and every year you are paying migrant and inflation costs. These inflated costs for housing, food, cars, insurance, crime, schooling, and more suck away your ability to save and pay your bills.  Like your locked up items at the grocery store or drugstore?  Do you like the massive jump in homelessness from increased costs you experience, but who could no longer afford rent and food? Like your grocery bill? How about your car insurance bill or homeowner insurance bill? What about your utility bills?

What about paying for college for millions of people you don’t know? Why are you being asked to pay for that? Have you taken out a loan and paid it off? Struggled to pay it off? Sacrificing to make payments now? Then you will be glad to know you might be paying off someone else’s college bill too. You’re helping them make more money than you. Robbing from the poor and middle class working people to give to more privileged individuals. Something is wrong with this picture.

California government officials just published a paper explaining how they are cheating working families. Working individuals and families will be paying $5.7 billion more in energy costs alone to subsidize wealthy individuals. Don’t you love authoritarian government policies? Something is wrong with this picture.

Are you going to vote to fix it or make it worse?
